Description
Viburnum x Spring Lace is a hybrid viburnum renowned for its graceful, arching branches and prolific display of delicate, lacy white flowers in spring, which create a striking contrast against its glossy green foliage. This deciduous shrub typically grows to a medium size, making it ideal for use as a specimen plant, informal hedge, or foundation planting. Its unique, finely textured flowers emerge in flat-topped clusters, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies, while its dark blue-black berries in fall provide food for birds. Originating from a cross between Viburnum carlesii and Viburnum utile, Spring Lace combines the fragrant, early spring blooms and disease resistance of its parents with an elegant, spreading habit. It is valued for its adaptability to a range of soil types and its tolerance of both sun and partial shade conditions, making it a versatile choice for temperate landscapes. This cultivar has gained recognition for its ornamental appeal and garden performance, often recommended by horticultural experts for adding seasonal interest and wildlife value to garden settings.
