Description
Sesleria autumnalis ‘Campo Azul’, commonly known as Moor Grass, is a striking ornamental grass prized for its year-round interest and unique blue-green foliage that turns a golden hue in autumn. Native to southern Europe, this evergreen perennial forms dense clumps of narrow, arching leaves that create a fine-textured, low-maintenance groundcover ideal for borders, rock gardens, and naturalistic plantings. Its adaptability to well-drained soils and tolerance of drought make it a resilient choice for sustainable landscapes. The plant produces inconspicuous, pale flower spikes in late spring, adding subtle seasonal texture without overwhelming the garden. ‘Campo Azul’ is particularly valued by landscapers for its compact size and neat habit, which provide a tidy, ornamental appearance throughout the seasons. Recognized for its ornamental value, Sesleria autumnalis cultivars have been celebrated for their contribution to garden biodiversity and low-maintenance beauty.
