Description
Salvia leucantha ‘White Mischief,’ commonly known as Mexican Bush Sage, is a striking perennial renowned for its elegant white flower spikes that contrast vividly against its soft, velvety green foliage. Native to Mexico and Central America, this species thrives in warm climates and well-drained soils, making it a popular choice for adding texture and brightness to garden landscapes. Unlike the typical purple-flowered varieties, ‘White Mischief’ offers a unique pure white bloom that attracts pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds, enhancing biodiversity in the garden. Its long blooming season from late summer to fall adds extended visual interest, and its drought tolerance combined with low maintenance needs make it a favorite among gardeners and landscapers alike. The plant’s arching form and soft, fuzzy stems contribute to its ornamental appeal, while its adaptability to full sun and moderate heat emphasizes its suitability for various garden styles. ‘White Mischief’ has been recognized by horticultural communities for its exceptional ornamental qualities and reliable performance in garden settings.
