Description
Rhododendron x ‘Robin Hill Lady Robin’ Azalea is a striking deciduous azalea hybrid renowned for its abundant, vibrant salmon-pink blossoms that grace the plant in mid to late spring. This cultivar is a product of extensive hybridization aimed at improving cold hardiness, disease resistance, and bloom performance, making it well-suited for temperate climates and USDA zones 5 through 8. ‘Lady Robin’ Azalea features a compact, mounding habit with semi-glossy green foliage that provides attractive greenery throughout the growing season, turning subtle bronze in autumn. Its prolific flowering and moderate growth rate make it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, woodland gardens, or mixed borders where bright spring color is desired. Originating from the well-regarded Robin Hill series developed in the mid-20th century, this azalea reflects a successful breeding program that combined the beauty of native azaleas with improved garden adaptability. The series has been recognized by horticultural societies for its garden merit and reliable performance.
