Description
Pinus strobus ‘Bennett’s Fastigate’ Eastern White Pine is a distinctive cultivar of the native Eastern White Pine, renowned for its upright, columnar growth habit that adds vertical interest to landscapes without the typical wide spread of standard varieties. This fast-growing evergreen features soft, bluish-green needles that are longer and more flexible than many other pines, providing year-round texture and color. Originating from selections of the native Pinus strobus, ‘Bennett’s Fastigate’ has been prized for its adaptability to a range of soil types and climates, thriving especially well in well-drained, acidic soils. Its unique fastigate form makes it ideal for use as a natural privacy screen, windbreak, or architectural specimen in both residential and commercial settings. The cultivar’s resilience to urban pollution and deer browsing further enhances its landscape value. Recognized for its ornamental appeal and structural form, ‘Bennett’s Fastigate’ continues to be a favored choice among landscape professionals and gardeners seeking a stately yet space-conscious evergreen tree.
