Description
Pinus mugo ‘White Bud’, commonly known as Dwarf Mountain Pine, is a compact and slow-growing evergreen shrub prized for its dense, dark green needles and distinctive white-tipped buds that add year-round visual interest. Originating from the mountainous regions of Europe, this cultivar embodies the hardiness and rugged beauty of its species, thriving in a variety of soil types and displaying excellent tolerance to cold temperatures and urban pollution. Its naturally mounded, bushy form makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, foundation plantings, and low hedges, providing texture and structure to landscapes. The ‘White Bud’ selection is particularly valued for its unique foliage coloration and consistent growth habit, offering a refined alternative to more vigorous pines. This cultivar has been recognized in horticultural circles for its ornamental appeal and resilience, contributing to its popularity in both traditional and contemporary garden designs.
