Description
Picea omorika ‘Bruns’, commonly known as the Serbian Spruce, is a striking evergreen conifer native to the mountainous regions of the Balkans, particularly Serbia and Bosnia. Renowned for its elegant, narrow pyramidal form and graceful, slender branches that sweep downward, this cultivar features dark green, glossy needles with a silvery-blue underside, creating a unique two-tone effect that adds year-round visual interest. The Serbian Spruce is highly valued for its adaptability to a range of soil types and climates, as well as its tolerance to urban pollution, making it a popular choice for both residential and commercial landscapes. Originating from a species discovered in the early 20th century, Picea omorika has since become prized in ornamental horticulture for its refined texture and stately presence. Its slow growth rate and moderate size make it suitable for smaller spaces, providing a graceful alternative to more commonly planted spruces. This plant has been recognized for its outstanding landscape performance and durability, earning a solid reputation among landscapers and gardeners alike.
