Description
Leptinella squalida ‘Platt’s Black’, commonly known as Black Brass Buttons, is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial native to New Zealand. This cultivar is prized for its unique, fern-like foliage that exhibits a deep purple to near-black hue, intensifying with increased sun exposure . The plant produces small, yellow, button-like flowers in early to mid-summer . Its dense, spreading habit makes it an excellent groundcover, suitable for filling spaces between stepping stones or as a lawn alternative in small areas.
