Description
Juniperus scopulorum ‘Skyrocket’, commonly known as Rocky Mountain Juniper ‘Skyrocket’, is a striking evergreen conifer native to the Rocky Mountain region of the United States. Renowned for its narrow, columnar form and dense, steel-blue to silvery-green foliage, this cultivar makes an excellent vertical accent in landscapes, offering year-round color and structure. The plant typically reaches heights of 15 to 20 feet with a very slender growth habit, making it ideal for tight spaces or as a natural privacy screen. Adapted to a wide range of soil types and highly drought-tolerant once established, ‘Skyrocket’ thrives in full sun and is resistant to deer and most pests, adding to its popularity in low-maintenance gardens. Its historic use by Native American tribes for medicinal and ceremonial purposes underscores its cultural significance, while its modern landscape appeal has been highlighted in numerous horticultural references for its bold, architectural presence.
