Description
Juniperus sabina ‘Arcadia’, commonly known as Savin Juniper, is a hardy, low-growing evergreen shrub prized for its dense, bright green foliage that turns a subtle bronze in winter. Native to the mountains of Europe and Asia, this cultivar is known for its vigorous growth habit, reaching up to 3 feet in height and spreading widely to form an attractive, mat-like groundcover. Valued for its tolerance to poor soils, drought, and harsh climates, ‘Arcadia’ is often used in erosion control, foundation plantings, and rock gardens. Its scale-like leaves emit a fresh, aromatic scent when crushed, a characteristic feature of many junipers. The plant’s rugged nature combined with its year-round color and texture make it a favorite for landscapes requiring low maintenance and reliable performance. ‘Arcadia’ Savin Juniper has been recognized by horticultural societies for its durability and ornamental appeal, underscoring its enduring popularity in both residential and commercial settings.
