Description
Juniperus chinensis ‘Hetzii’, commonly known as Chinese Juniper ‘Hetzii’, is a versatile and hardy evergreen conifer valued for its dense, upright growth and striking blue-green needle-like foliage. Originating from China and widely cultivated in the United States for decades, this cultivar is prized for its tolerance to a variety of soil conditions and its resistance to drought and urban pollution, making it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, hedges, and windbreaks. The ‘Hetzii’ form is distinguished by its compact, columnar habit, which provides year-round visual interest and structure in the landscape. As a low-maintenance shrub, it requires minimal pruning and is relatively pest-resistant, contributing to its popularity in both residential and commercial landscapes. This cultivar has earned recognition in horticultural circles for its reliability and adaptability, securing its place as a staple conifer in ornamental gardening.
