Description
Juniperus chinensis ‘Blue Point’, commonly known as Blue Point Chinese Juniper, is a striking evergreen conifer valued for its dense, pyramidal form and vibrant steel-blue foliage that adds year-round color and texture to landscapes. Originating from China, this cultivar is renowned for its hardiness and adaptability, thriving in a wide range of soil types and exhibiting exceptional drought tolerance once established. Its slow to moderate growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, hedges, or specimen accents in both residential and commercial settings. The fine-textured needles maintain their vivid blue hue throughout the seasons, providing consistent visual interest. Historically, Chinese junipers have been cultivated for centuries in Asia for their ornamental and practical uses, including erosion control and as bonsai specimens. ‘Blue Point’ is particularly esteemed in the horticultural community for its combination of color, form, and resilience, making it a popular and enduring addition to garden designs.
