Description
Hemerocallis x Dwarf Yellow Daylily is a compact cultivar within the diverse daylily genus, renowned for its vibrant yellow blossoms and manageable size, making it an excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, and container plantings. This hybrid daylily exhibits the characteristic trumpet-shaped flowers typical of Hemerocallis species, featuring bright, cheerful yellow petals that bloom profusely during the summer, each flower lasting only a single day but producing numerous blooms over an extended period. Originating from cross-breeding efforts aimed at developing more compact, hardy, and floriferous cultivars, this dwarf variety maintains the genus’s notable adaptability to a range of soils and climates, including tolerance to heat and drought once established. Its low-growing habit, usually reaching under 12 inches in height, allows it to provide continuous color in smaller garden spaces without overwhelming other plants. Daylilies, including this dwarf form, have a long horticultural history dating back centuries in Asia and have become staples in American gardens due to their ease of care, pest resistance, and striking flower displays. This specific cultivar is appreciated in landscape use for its reliable blooming and negligible maintenance requirements.
