Description
Digitalis ‘Foxlight Plum Gold’ is a striking hybrid foxglove cultivar known for its vibrant and bicolor flowers, blending rich plum-purple hues with contrasting golden yellow throats. This compact perennial, bred for both garden performance and ornamental appeal, features tall, upright spikes densely packed with tubular blossoms, attracting pollinators such as bees and hummingbirds. Originating from hybridization efforts to improve traditional Digitalis species, ‘Foxlight Plum Gold’ combines the classic elegance of foxgloves with enhanced disease resistance, a more manageable size, and an extended blooming period from late spring into early summer. Its versatility makes it suitable for borders, cottage gardens, and naturalistic plantings, thriving in well-drained soils with partial to full sun. The cultivar’s unique coloration and garden reliability have earned it recognition among horticulturists and garden designers seeking bold vertical accents with a splash of warm color.
