Description
Alstroemeria × Colorita ‘Eliane’, commonly known as Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas, is a striking hybrid celebrated for its vibrant, trumpet-shaped flowers that showcase a blend of rich pinks, purples, and subtle yellow markings. This cultivar is a result of meticulous breeding aimed at enhancing flower size, color intensity, and extended blooming periods, making it a favorite for cut flower arrangements and garden display alike. Native to South America, particularly Chile and Brazil, Alstroemeria species have a storied history of cultivation dating back to the early 18th century when they were introduced to Europe. ‘Eliane’ stands out for its long-lasting blooms and sturdy stems, thriving best in well-drained soils under partial shade to full sun conditions. Its unique reversed leaf growth and graceful arching habit add ornamental appeal beyond the blooms themselves. Valued both for its aesthetic qualities and durability, this cultivar continues to be a staple in floriculture and garden settings, demonstrating improved resistance to common diseases and adaptability across temperate climates.
