Description
Achillea ‘Moon Dust’ Yarrow is a modern hybrid cultivar prized for its distinctive, powdery blue-gray foliage that sets it apart from traditional yarrows. This hardy perennial typically grows to about 18-24 inches tall, producing flat clusters of small, button-like flowers in soft shades of pale pink or lavender throughout the summer months. Originating from the Achillea genus, known historically for its medicinal uses dating back to ancient Greece where it was named after Achilles, this cultivar combines both ornamental appeal and drought tolerance, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens and xeriscaping. ‘Moon Dust’ is appreciated for its long bloom period, deer resistance, and ability to attract pollinators such as butterflies and bees. Its unique silvery foliage provides year-round visual interest, enhancing garden texture and color contrast. This cultivar has been recognized in horticultural circles for its garden performance and distinctive aesthetic, reflecting the ongoing innovation within the Achillea breeding programs.
