Description
Juncus inflexus ‘ColorGrass® Blue Dart’ is a striking ornamental rush known for its dense, upright clumps of blue-gray, tubular foliage that adds a unique architectural element to landscapes and water gardens. Native to Europe and Western Asia, this species has been cultivated for its adaptability to wet or well-drained soils and its tolerance for a range of light conditions from full sun to partial shade. ‘Blue Dart’ distinguishes itself with a more compact form and vibrant steel-blue coloration compared to typical rushes, making it an excellent choice for edging ponds, rain gardens, or creating textural contrast in perennial borders. This cultivar’s low-maintenance nature and resistance to deer and drought stress contribute to its popularity among landscapers and gardeners. Recognized for its ornamental value, ColorGrass® selections like ‘Blue Dart’ have been featured by plant breeders and garden centers for their unique foliage color and form, enhancing modern landscape designs with sustainable beauty.
