Description
Erigeron karvinskianus ‘Spindrift,’ commonly known as Mexican Daisy or Santa Barbara Daisy, is a charming perennial groundcover prized for its delicate, daisy-like blooms that transition from creamy white to soft pink and then to a rosy magenta, creating a dynamic, multi-hued floral display throughout the growing season. Native to Mexico and Central America, this resilient species thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, cascading over walls, or filling in borders with its fine-textured foliage and airy appearance. ‘Spindrift’ distinguishes itself with a more prolific and floriferous bloom habit compared to the species, offering continuous color from late spring through fall. It is drought tolerant once established and attracts beneficial pollinators such as bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity. This cultivar has been recognized in horticultural circles for its versatility and ornamental appeal, making it a popular selection for sustainable and low-maintenance landscapes.
