Description
Muhlenbergia emersleyi ‘El Toro’, commonly known as Bull Grass, is a compact, clump-forming ornamental grass native to the southwestern United States. It features long, blue-green leaves with a slightly coarse texture, forming dense mounds approximately 2 to 3 feet in height and width. In the fall, ‘El Toro’ produces airy, rosy-purple flower spikes that age to a tan hue in winter, adding seasonal interest to landscapes. This drought-tolerant grass thrives in full sun to partial shade and is well-suited for areas with reflected heat. A vigorous spring pruning helps maintain its tidy appearance by removing dormant foliage and spent flower spikes.
