Description
Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’, commonly known as Purple Fountain Grass, is a striking ornamental grass prized for its arching, burgundy-purple foliage and graceful, bottlebrush-like flower spikes that emerge in late summer and persist into fall. Originating from East Africa, this warm-season perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, making it a popular choice for adding texture, movement, and rich color contrast in garden borders, containers, and landscape designs. Its unique dark foliage sets it apart from many other grasses, providing a dramatic backdrop for flowering perennials and annuals.
