Description
Muhlenbergia capillaris ‘White Cloud’ Muhly Grass is a striking ornamental grass prized for its delicate, airy plumes that emerge in late summer to fall, creating a cloud-like effect of soft white inflorescences. Native to the southeastern United States, this warm-season perennial thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, showcasing fine-textured, arching green foliage that turns a subtle bronze in cooler months. The cultivar ‘White Cloud’ is distinguished by its pure white flower heads, which provide a graceful contrast to the typical pink or purple tones of standard Muhly grass varieties, making it a unique choice for adding lightness and movement to landscapes, borders, and naturalistic garden designs. Its adaptability to drought and low-maintenance requirements enhance its appeal for sustainable gardening. Muhlenbergia capillaris has garnered attention for its ornamental qualities, and ‘White Cloud’ continues this legacy by offering exceptional aesthetic value with its ethereal flowering display.
