Description
Taxus x media ‘Brownii’, commonly known as Anglojap Yew, is a hardy and versatile evergreen shrub prized for its dense, rich green foliage and elegant, upright growth habit. This hybrid yew results from crossing the English yew (Taxus baccata) and the Japanese yew (Taxus cuspidata), combining the best traits of both parent species. Known for its adaptability to a range of soil types and excellent shade tolerance, Anglojap Yew is widely used in landscape design for hedges, foundation plantings, and formal gardens due to its ability to be easily shaped and maintained. Its slow growth rate and long lifespan make it a durable, low-maintenance choice for year-round greenery. This cultivar also offers deer resistance and moderate drought tolerance, which contributes to its popularity in various climatic zones. Renowned for its classic beauty and reliability, Taxus x media ‘Brownii’ has become a staple in both residential and commercial landscapes across North America.
