Description
Thuja occidentalis ‘Globosa’, commonly known as Globe Arborvitae, is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub prized for its dense, globe-shaped form and rich green foliage that maintains its color year-round. Native to northeastern North America, this cultivar of Eastern Arborvitae has been selectively bred for its tidy, rounded habit, making it an excellent choice for foundation plantings, hedges, or container gardens where space is limited. The globe-shaped growth habit distinguishes it from the more typical pyramidal forms of Thuja occidentalis, offering a unique structural element to landscapes. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained soils, showing good tolerance to urban pollution and winter cold. Globe Arborvitae is also valued for its low maintenance requirements and resistance to common pests and diseases, making it a reliable and attractive option for both residential and commercial landscapes.
