Description
Juniperus sabina ‘Broadmoor’, commonly known as Savin Juniper, is a low-growing, dense evergreen shrub prized for its rich green, needle-like foliage and spreading habit. This cultivar is valued for its adaptability to various soil types and its exceptional drought tolerance, making it an excellent choice for groundcovers, erosion control, and foundation plantings. Originating from the species native to Eurasian mountainous regions, ‘Broadmoor’ was selected for its broader, more vigorous growth compared to typical Savin junipers, offering enhanced landscape presence and durability. Its ability to thrive in full sun to partial shade and resist deer browsing further adds to its appeal. The Savin Juniper has been a staple in ornamental horticulture for decades, appreciated for its low maintenance requirements and year-round greenery.
