Description
Thuja occidentalis ‘Pyramidalis’, commonly known as Pyramidalis Arborvitae, is a striking evergreen conifer valued for its dense, columnar growth habit that makes it an excellent choice for privacy screens, windbreaks, and formal hedging. Native to eastern North America, this cultivar is a selection of the Eastern Arborvitae species, admired for its rich green, flat scale-like foliage that emits a pleasant, aromatic scent when crushed. ‘Pyramidalis’ is distinguished by its narrow, upright pyramid shape, which offers year-round visual interest in landscapes with minimal maintenance requirements. Historically, Arborvitae has been used by Indigenous peoples for medicinal purposes and as a durable wood source. This cultivar adapts well to a range of soil types and is tolerant of cold climates, making it a versatile and enduring addition to gardens and landscapes. Its refined form and dependable performance have earned it recognition among landscape professionals and gardeners seeking structured greenery with classic appeal.
