Description
Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Lutea Compacta’, commonly known as Dwarf Golden Hinoki Falsecypress, is a striking evergreen conifer prized for its dense, compact growth habit and vibrant golden-yellow foliage. Native to Japan, the Hinoki cypress has been cultivated for centuries, valued for its durable timber and ornamental qualities. The ‘Lutea Compacta’ cultivar is distinguished by its slow growth and tight, rounded form, making it an ideal specimen for small gardens, rockeries, or container planting. Its soft, fan-shaped foliage contrasts beautifully against darker evergreens, adding year-round color and texture to landscapes. This cultivar thrives in well-drained soil with partial to full sun and exhibits excellent resistance to pests and diseases. Recognized by horticulturists for its unique color and manageable size, Dwarf Golden Hinoki is a favorite among landscape designers seeking elegant architectural interest and a splash of golden hue in garden compositions.
