Description
Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Elfin Kohuhu’ is a compact, evergreen shrub native to New Zealand, prized for its finely textured, narrow foliage that gives it a delicate, airy appearance. This variety features small, glossy green leaves that may exhibit a subtle bronze or purple tint in cooler weather, enhancing its ornamental value in garden landscapes. ‘Elfin Kohuhu’ is known for its slow, dense growth habit, making it an excellent choice for low hedges, foundation plantings, and container gardens where a refined, graceful texture is desired. The plant produces small clusters of fragrant, creamy-yellow flowers in spring, followed by attractive seed capsules that add seasonal interest. Its adaptability to a range of soil types and tolerance for coastal conditions contribute to its popularity in temperate climates. The cultivar’s unique combination of compact form and fine foliage distinguishes it from other Pittosporum selections and has made it a favorite in modern garden design.
