Description
Aeonium ‘Plum Petals’ is a striking hybrid succulent cultivar in the Aeonium genus, known for its rosette form that resembles a cluster of rose-like leaves. This variety is characterized by its vivid, deep plum to burgundy-colored foliage with subtle hints of green near the base, creating a dramatic contrast that makes it a standout in succulent collections and xeriscapes. Originating from the Canary Islands, Aeoniums have long been prized for their drought tolerance, architectural form, and ease of care. ‘Plum Petals’ specifically belongs to the Aeonium x arboreum group and has been cultivated for its ornamental appeal, offering a tree-like growth habit that can develop woody stems over time, often reaching a height that adds vertical interest to gardens or container displays. Its glossy, thick leaves retain moisture well, making it ideal for dry climates and rock gardens. This cultivar thrives in full sun to part shade and requires well-draining soil. Recognized by succulent enthusiasts and landscape professionals, Aeonium ‘Plum Petals’ has gained popularity for its vibrant coloration and adaptability but is also valued for its low maintenance and long-lasting visual impact throughout the growing season.
